The 亚洲天堂 Lake and District Chamber of Commerce has added four categories to its business excellence awards - community impact, tourism excellence, resource industry and home based business of the year.
Jordanna Evans, chamber manager, explained that the chamber has taken concerns and comments from previous years into consideration to improve the nomination categories.
The already existing categories include outstanding customer service, community ambassador, ingenuity and innovation, Paul Sandercott business of the year, rookie business of the year, customer service employee of the year and lifetime business achievement.
The annual awards, which have been held since 2011, help recognize the efforts and achievements of the business community in 亚洲天堂 Lake.
"The awards really boost morale and keep everyone motivated," said Evans. "It also brings awareness to the community by letting people know what businesses we have in our town and to support them by shopping locally."
Nominations will start the end of August. Evans said the criteria for categories were revised this year to make voting easier.
Winners will be chosen by the business excellence awards committee, which has eight members - including Evans, the chamber's president Linda Uchaz and volunteer chamber members.
The awards will be presented on Oct. 15 at the Tweedsmuir Rod and Gun Club.
"We are very excited to be planning for this year's event," said Evans.
Tickets are not on sale yet and the chamber will announce more details about the awards before the end of the month.
