Around 40 volunteers contribute their time to keep the local ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake and District Health Care Auxiliary Thrift Store running five days a week.

May 10, 2013 was Health Care Auxiliary Day in the province of B.C. The work of many volunteers, including Viola Strimbold, Sheila Briere, Judy Nicholson, Jeanne Olson, Loretta Petryshen, Amiko Fukushima and  Eleanore Anderson and Joyce Campbell have been able to raise funds to donate over $38,000 worth of equipment to the hospital and health care facilities, including lifts at the Pines costing $14,388; two long-term care beds costing $8638; an Ophthalmosope and Otoscope costing $3485; two emergency carts at $4729 each; and a pediatric crib stretcher worth $6,768.
