It's summer reading Club time. That's right, beginning on July 6, all kids from preschool to age 12 are invited to come down to the library this summer and have lots of fun.
It is 100 per cent free, just sign up at the front desk. Join Lisa and crew for stories, games and crafts all summer long.
Preschoolers story time is Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., ages 5 and 6 have their time on Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., ages 7 and 8 are on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and finally ages 9 to 12 can enjoy Fridays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
We realize it is summer and you have lots of fun plans, so even if you sign up for reading club, you can feel free to come on the weeks you can.
Don't feel it's a commitment to each and every week throughout the summer. For more information contact Lisa at 692-3192.
We had so much fun with Norden the Magician at the end of May.
Over 100 people came out to see the 'Reading is Magic' show that he performed.
We appreciate the financial support from the North Central Library Federation that made his visit possible.
For a little while, the magician disappeared. Trusting his GPS, he got on a back road to Granisle and ended up getting stuck in the mud.
While he was walking out to get help, he bumped into a bear.
He made it out safely, but will for sure be telling stories about Northern B.C. for a while.
Did you like the Hunger Games books? You might want to try 'The Maze Runner' by James Dashner.
Thomas wakes up in an elevator, remembering nothing but his own name. He emerges into a world of about 60 teen boys who have learned to survive in a completely enclosed environment, subsisting on their own agriculture and supplies from below.
A new boy arrives every 30 days. The original group has been in 'the glade' for two years, trying to find a way to escape through a maze that surrounds their living space.
They have begun to give up hope. Then a comatose girl arrives with a strange note, and their world begins to change.
