An all-day lahal tournament took place at Lakes District Secondary School (LDSS) on April 19. The traditional stick and bone game matched LDSS students against teams from Lake Babine Nation and Granisle鈥檚 Babine Elementary-Secondary School. Students from Decker Lake Elementary also attended to learn about the ancient game. 鈥淭hey learn how to work together and strategize,鈥 said LDSS home school coordinator Marlene Alec, who organized the event. 鈥淎nd the main thing about it is they learn to respect one another.鈥
