The Lakes District campus of the College of New Caledonia (CNC) has opened an Aboriginal resource centre (ARC), which is a place for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students to receive help with course work and support. The grand opening took place on Feb. 8 and included the presence of CNC president Henry Reiser. Events such as 鈥榚lder teas鈥� and storytelling have already taken place on CNC鈥檚 Lakes District campus, and staff hope to welcome elders to tea on a monthly basis to connect with students and staff. 鈥淚 am very excited about this new home for everyone,鈥� said Susie Tress, CNC鈥檚 Aboriginal advisor liaison. 鈥淲e are working hard to make it a welcoming space that provides support for all.鈥�
