A place to find a sense of hope. That, in a nutshell, is what 亚洲天堂 Lake residents can find by attending the free information and support groups offered by the non-profit Alzheimer Society of B.C.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a place to exchange information, support and find friendship with others whose lives are affected by dementia,鈥 says Leanne Jones, the society鈥檚 local support and education coordinator.
Participants learn about dementia, its progression and the impact it may have on individuals and families. They also learn practical coping strategies, encouraging caregivers to actively engage in protecting and maintaining their physical and emotional health.
The meetings offer the chance to regain some control in the face of a disease that cannot be controlled.
