Twenty cyclists from the University of Texas arrived in 亚洲天堂 Lake July 18 on day 47 of a 70 day trek that will take them to Anchorage, Alaska.
The group of students began their journey in Austin, Texas and are cycling to raise funds for cancer research.
Each rider is required to raise a minimum of $4500 for the cause, one dollar for each mile they will ride during their 70 days of travel. Some have raised as much as $20,000.
Many of these riders are motivated by the memory of one who has battled cancer.
The Texas 4000 is an annual event organized by the students themselves.
The students were fed and spent the night at Island Gospel Fellowship Church, before heading out the next day for Smithers. We wish them well.
