An attentive audience of about 70 Lakes District residents enjoyed the chamber music concert by The Orchestra North Summer Program Academy last week at the First Mennonite Church. The academy is made up of young musicians from Canada and the U.S. who are in the early stages of professional classical music careers. Their tour of the Central Interior is an outreach of the Orchestra North summer program that takes place annually in Smithers. The six musicians, joined by Roxi Dykstra, played music by Brahms, Mozart, Prokofiev, Dvorak and Schubert in a variety of configurations including solos, duets, trios and as a whole ensemble.
