Free movie to support 亚洲天堂 Lake

The Lakes District Film Society will offer local residents a free film this month as a show of community support.

Representatives of the film society, which operates 亚洲天堂 Lake鈥檚 community owned Beacon Theatre, announced that they will be screening the Disney Studios film 'Winnie the Pooh' on Feb. 18, 2012.

No admission will be charged, but donations to the 亚洲天堂 Lake Tragedy Fund would be gratefully accepted.

The screening is made possible in part by a donation from the 亚洲天堂 Lake and District Community Foundation.

Michael Riis-Christianson, president of the Lakes District Film Society said, 鈥淚t鈥檚 also our way of showing our solidarity and support for this community during this difficult time.鈥

Riis-Christianson said society members hope the event will be provide local residents with a temporary reprieve from their everyday worries.

鈥 is a timeless classic that speaks to the child in everyone. In wake of recent events, I think we all may be in need of a little respite. Sure, the challenges our community and its residents face will still be there when the movie ends, but perhaps we can forget about them for a couple of hours.鈥

The Lakes District Film Society reopened 亚洲天堂 Lake鈥檚 Beacon Theatre in December 2010. It鈥檚 Canada鈥檚 third community owned cinema.
