John and Sandra Barth were one of the recipients of this year鈥檚 B.C. community achievement awards.
They are known as diligent, behind-the-scenes volunteers, contributing at numerous community events in 亚洲天堂 Lake.
Over the past 40 years, and always side-by-side, John and Sandra have lent their positive attitudes and energy to countless organizations, including the 亚洲天堂 Lake and District Seniors Society, the B.C. Seniors Games, Terry Fox run, the Lakes District Arts Council, along with projects for youth and rural outreach programs.
鈥淲e were very surprised to hear of our nomination and selection for the B.C. achievement award,鈥 said John. 鈥淥f course it was a pleasant surprise, and we鈥檙e most honoured, and a bit humbled, to be included on a list of many prominent British Columbians.鈥
The recipients of the 2017 awards were recognized in a formal presentation ceremony in Victoria last week, but John and Sandra were not able to attend.
鈥淲e will miss the award ceremony this year, sadly, as we had already made our current travel plans many weeks before hearing of our nomination and award,鈥 explained John.
亚洲天堂 Lake Mayor Chris Beach said John and Sandra鈥檚 award was 鈥渆xtremely well deserving.鈥
