The sixth and final performance in the Lakes District Arts Council’s (LDAC) 'Perfect 10' takes place on April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lakes District Secondary School in the multi purpose room.
Cayla Brooke's show How Can I Keep from Singing? features two of Vancouver’s finest vocalists, Cayla Brooke and Tom Pickett, and a red-hot four-piece band.
The show tells the story of Eva Cassidy, a North American treasure with an almost cult following in Europe. The audience will experience a journey from Eva Cassidy’s humble beginnings in Washington DC, to some of her most magical moments on stage, and to her untimely death in 1996, at the age of 33.
Featuring over 25 songs, How Can I Keep From Singing? ranges from jazz and blues, to gospel, country and folk. You will hear Stormy Monday, Over the Rainbow, Wayfaring Stranger, Fields of Gold and Danny Boy … and many more. Cayla deftly blends all these songs with her own brand of wit and sparkle.
The arts council will be announcing its eleventh season at this show! Enjoy a great evening, and be among the first to know the live entertainment that will be part of LDAC’s coming season.
