Current events in the Middle East remind me of psalm 83, 鈥淐ome, let us cut off Israel from being a nation; that the name of Israel be no more in remembrance.鈥�

Yet God made an eternal decree, 鈥淚f you can break my covenant of the day and my covenant of the night, that there should not be day and night in their season, then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne,鈥� Jeremiah 33:20, 21.

The bible points to Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of this promise to King David.  Jesus was a direct descendant of the lineage of King David through both Mary and Joseph.

When he walked on earth, two crowns rested in a vault of the temple awaiting his arrival.

But Jesus鈥� first visit was not to be crowned king, but to die as a savior for all mankind.

I don鈥檛 know about you, but I鈥檝e searched history over and made the decision that Israel鈥檚 messiah is the only king I want ruling over me.

He alone has demonstrated his unrivaled power, moral excellence and love for all people. He won my heart the day I learned he valued me so much. He died to save me from sin and grant me everlasting life.

Years ago I made the decision to pledge my allegiance to him and let his reign begin in my life. I have never been sorry.

The bible assures us that Jesus will return and reign from Mount Zion. Every knee will bow to him, to the delight of God the father and a war torn earth.  Why?

Because after millennia鈥檚 of dictators, corruption and human frailty, the world will finally be ready for a king who reigns in righteousness.
