Tabor Mountain Ski Resort, located 20 km east of Prince George, is offering a free day of riding for people in 亚洲天堂 Lake on Aug. 20 at their mountain bike park.
The mountain bike park was reopened this year after being closed for a decade.
In 2005 and 2006, Tabor Mountain opened its mountain bike park in hopes of permanently bringing downhill mountain biking to Prince George. At that time, however, there wasn't enough numbers in riders and support from the community to keep it going.
"We want to let the mountain bikers of the north know what we have been developing out at Tabor and our hopes for the future," says the resort's website. "It is our belief that mountain biking is bigger than ever."
"We are using the 2016 season as a test season to see what the local riders want in a bike park and how much interest there is for lift access mountain biking," explained Conrad Jaye, manager of Tabor Mountain Ski Resort. "We currently have 12 runs ranging from green to double black diamond giving experienced riders of all levels something to ride."
In order to ride for free on Aug. 20, riders must have a valid ID showing their 亚洲天堂 Lake address.
Everyone riding at Tabor Mountain must fill out a waiver of liability each day they come out. People 18 and under must have a parent/guardian sign the waiver for them - the parent/guardian must also have valid government ID.
You must also have a helmet with chin strap and a mountain bike with minimum 24-inch wheels and disk brakes. Protective padding is strongly recommended.
"Take this opportunity to gather a group, or come by yourself, and come and see what we can offer," says Jaye.
