Biking on Francois Lake

web1_240228-ldn-rachelle-van-zanten-photo_1

Parts of Francois Lake froze over from the recent cold temperatures. There was approximately four inches of ice on parts of the lake. Karl Paulson enjoyed the day out on Francois Lake with his fat bike on the ice. It is rare that lakes in the area freeze over without snow on them, but when it happens residents take advantage of the fantastic ice. Residents should take precaution while they were on the ice. Ice should be at least 15 centimetres (6 inches) for small groups to skate or walk. Always check the safety of the ice. Francois Lake is no longer frozen – the high winds last week blew up the ice.
