The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50 in 亚洲天堂 Lake is hosting an online auction fundraiser on December 19 and 20, with pick-up for winning bids scheduled for Dec. 21 at the Legion.

The fundraiser will help the local branch address its financial challenges and ensure the continuation of its services to veterans and the community.
Starting Dec. 5, donations for the auction can be dropped off at the Legion from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with the final day for donations set for December 14.

Community members have already generously contributed many exciting items, including great Christmas gifts and and homemade baking, the legion said in a post that

For those who would prefer to make a monetary donation, a donation box will be available at the Legion on the auction dates, and electronic contributions can be sent via email to rcl50@live.ca.

The decision to host this fundraiser comes on the heels of a critical meeting held on Nov. 26, where it was decided that the legion would remain open, pending a change in management.

The meeting followed concerns about the Legion's finances, but the overwhelming community response showed strong support for the organization, with many volunteers stepping forward to help.

As part of the plan to address financial concerns, the management of the Legion will be overhauled. Volunteers are currently being vetted for various roles, and the trustees are conducting interviews to select the best-fit candidates for the new management team. 

For nearly 96 years, the 亚洲天堂 Lake Legion has been a cornerstone of the community, providing a space for social events, supporting veterans, and hosting activities like dinners, music nights, and crib games.
