Lakes District Hospital's emergency department reported extended hours of closure as the long weekend started Aug. 30.
Northern Health announced service interruption first on Friday, August 30, between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, due to "physician coverage challenges".
The health authority issued an announcement again the next day at 6 p.m. citing emergency department closures on Aug. 31 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next (September 1) due to "physician coverage challenges."
As protocol Northern Health advised residents from 亚洲天堂 Lake and area, who needed life-threatening emergency care (i.e. chest pains, difficulty breathing, or severe bleeding), to be redirected to St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof or the nearest available and appropriate facility.
