The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako hired WSP Canada Inc., a consultant, to create a blueprint for a multi-use trail accessible to all users along Highway 35.

The proposed trail鈥檚 first phase is approximately 12 kilometres long and aims to connect the Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake to the community at Tchesinkut Lake. The long-term vision is to connect the Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake to the Francois Lake Ferry Terminal.

The study will identify technically feasible trail options and promote a collaborative approach. The consultant will work closely with government agencies, First Nations, and community stakeholders to determine the preferred trail options and preliminary costs. This will ensure that all opinions are heard and considered in the decision-making process.

This project鈥檚 priority was to establish an active transportation corridor along Highway 35. The project鈥檚 purpose was to provide a safe and functional transportation option for the residents while creating a recreation and tourism asset that will benefit visitors who support local businesses.

The project aims to promote health and fitness in the community, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and create more opportunities for work and play. This initiative will have tangible benefits for the community and positively impact the lives of the residents.
