Cardlocks across Four Rivers Cooperative locations in northwest B.C. are back online and fully operational two weeks after a cyberattack wiped out the systems last week, the company announced in a July 4 update. 

Four Rivers said, the parent organization Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) restored all cardlocks across Western Canada and is diligently working to fully recover from a recent cybersecurity incident.

However some of the software and operations are still impacted, including product orders, website and the app, Four Rivers said in their social media post. 

Four Rivers, serving multiple communities in northern B.C., had to suspend operations at its retail and cardlock fuel locations following a cyberattack on parent company Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). 

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) supplies Four Rivers Co-op operating in multiple communities including Vanderhoof, Quesnel, Houston, 亚洲天堂 Lake, Fraser Lake, Kitimat, and Terrace.

The cooperative's cardlock fuel locations were forced to close due to the cybersecurity incident reported on June 26, causing a widespread communications outage across western Canada.

FCL confirmed on June 27 that the cyberattack had affected their systems nationwide, impacting customer-facing systems at local retail Co-ops and cardlock fuel locations.

As a precautionary measure, some systems were shut down, and third-party experts were engaged to investigate, FCL said in a social media post.

By June 29, FCL disclosed that the cyber security incident had also affected internal systems and warned of potential inventory impacts on certain grocery items.

鈥淪ome of our systems and operations continue to be impacted, including all our cardlock locations and website. Our gas bars, agro centres, home centres, and food stores are open and operational.鈥�

Despite customer concerns, FCL assured the public that there was no evidence of consumer data being compromised, pledging appropriate action pending the investigation's outcome.

Meanwhile, Four Rivers Co-op announced today (July 2) that its Vanderhoof location at 909 Hwy 16 is operational at limited capacity, offering dyed fuel, diesel, regular gas, and DEF (only pump 5) for purchase.

FCL has not yet specified when the issue will be resolved. FCL told Black Press Media that they are currently unable to provide additional details on the situation, but assured that ongoing updates will be posted on their social media channels.
