A motorcyclist was killed by a collision with a truck on Highway 16 near Terrace the evening of Aug. 8.
Terrace RCMP said in a statement they responded to the crash approximately 35 km west of Terrace just after 6:02 p.m.
First responders arrived on the scene, but the motorcyclist, who was travelling west, did not survive despite life-saving efforts. The truck driver, heading east, was not injured.
The incident near the railway level crossing led to the closure of Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince Rupert for several hours. It re-opened just before midnight Aug. 8.
