The hearing for Robert Charlie, the former chief of the Ts’il Kaz Koh First Nation, has been adjourned to the morning of October 23. The hearing will address allegations of a breach of conditions related to his Conditional Sentence Order (CSO).
Charlie, who was sentenced to house arrest in April 2023 for incidents that occurred between 1993 and 1994, is currently facing scrutiny following his recent release on house arrest conditions due to the alleged breach. The BC Prosecution Service confirmed his release last month on September 20, amid these ongoing legal issues.
Initially charged with sexual interference and sexual assault, Charlie pleaded guilty to sexual interference during a court appearance in July 2021. His sentence included a two-year CSO, three years of probation, and a ten-year prohibition from possessing firearms.
