The former band manager of the Skin Tyee Nation, Nathan Michaluk, has been charged with one count of careless use or storage of a firearm and one count of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The charges, under sections 86(1) and 88(1) of the Criminal Code, were confirmed by the BC Prosecution Service.
Michaluk made his first court appearance on November 1 and appeared again on November 21 for a procedural update. His next court date is set for December 9 at 9:30 a.m. in courtroom 153 at the Smithers Law Courts, where a hearing will be held regarding a bail variation.
Michaluk was allegedly terminated from his position as the band manager in August, shortly before elected chief Ryan Tom was voted out in October.
