Sunday, Nov. 17 Kiss Me Kate’ broadcast at The Beacon Theatre
Kiss Me, Kate the musical is being broadcast at The Beacon Theatre at 1:00 pm on Nov. 17. Adrian Dunbar and Stephanie J. Block lead a stellar cast in a sizzling new 5-star production of Kiss Me, Kate, filmed live at the Barbican in London especially for the big screen. Cole Porter’s legendary musical comedy has backstage shenanigans, Shakespearean sonnets and singing gangsters – not to mention a romance that’s just too darn hot. A full-scale orchestra performs the show tune classics Brush Up Your Shakespeare, Too Darn Hot, Always True To You (In my Fashion) and Tom, Dick or Harry. A simple love story about two people who just can’t stand each other, Kiss Me, Kate is unmissable all-zinging entertainment with great songs, hot dancing, smart gags and glorious characters. Saturday, Nov. 23: LDSS Christmas Craft Fair, sponsored by the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Public Library.
The 40th Annual Christmas Craft Fair is happening Saturday, Nov. 23 at Lakes District Secondary School. Doors open at 9 a.m. for seniors, and at 9:30 a.m. to the general public. The craft fair closes at 3 p.m. The LDSS Graduation Class of 2025 will be doing the concession, Santa picture booth and the raffle. Saturday, Nov. 23: Alban Classical Artists concert at the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Community Church
Alban Classical Artists will perform a classical music concert on Saturday evening, Nov. 23starting at 7:30 p.m. at the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Community Church. The church is located on Kerr Road, 1 km east of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake off Highway 16. Alban Classical Artists will perform trios in various combinations, including piano, cello, oboe and clarinet. The musicians will be playing the music of Brahms and Beethoven, and music by George Gershwin. This free concert is presented by the Lakes District Arts Council, and is funded by the BC Arts Council.
The LDAC is also supported by the BCAC, and is additionally supported by the Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake, the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako, SD #91 and many generous corporate sponsors. Just a reminder that the Christmas Parade and Light-Up Event is on Nov. 29
The Christmas Parade, organized by the Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà with the help of the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake & District Chamber of Commerce, will happen this year on Friday evening, Nov, 29. The parade will marshall at 6 pm on LDSS Lakers Drive behind the Public Library and the Little Angels Day Care, and will proceed down Government Street starting at 6:30 pm. After the parade, you are invited to the Christmas Light-Up Event at the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Heritage Church on First Avenue, hosted by the Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake. The Light-Up event will feature a Christmas Tree outside the Heritage Church, and the lights of Pioneer Park on Highway 16. After the Light-Up Event, stay for a cup of hot chocolate, and check out activities inside the church. The ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Public Library together with Lakes Literacy is inviting kids and seniors to try their hands at craft tables, and at 7:30 pm invites families for a Story Time.
