On Jan 16, 亚洲天堂 Lake resident Jessica Shively鈥檚 daughters were caught up in the aftermath of the snowstorm while driving back from Prince George.
鈥淢y oldest daughter, Aly, was driving when she hit a patch of ice near the industrial road,鈥 Shively said.
The ice patch caused her to lose control of the car and hit the ditch at approximately 5 a.m. No physical injuries were incurred to either Aly or Maddy, although they were shaken up emotionally.
The car had some minor dings, but it is fine otherwise. Aly even drove it to school on Friday, Jan. 19.
Shively said Aly texted her after the accident. Aly鈥檚 text read, 鈥淗ey, momma. Just hit the ditch right outta town. Can you get us?鈥
She quickly responded to the text and headed straight to the accident site. In the meantime, a kind truck driver pulled over to ensure Aly and Maddy were alright.
The next day, Shively talked with local resident Amy Wainwright about the accident while attending Fraser Lake Elementary School鈥檚 Parent Advisory Council meeting.
鈥淚 understand that she forwarded the scenario to her husband, Matt Wainwright, who took it upon himself to plough out the car and pull it out from the ditch. He even pumped up the tire and left us with a booster set in case the car needed a boost when we went to collect it,鈥 Shively said.
鈥淚 can鈥檛 even express my gratitude and awe that someone would do such a huge kindness for someone else, for us. Matt鈥檚 wife, Amy, offered to come along and help boost the car once the keys were on sight. Another kindness offered,鈥 Shively said.
Shively is thankful to everyone who showed support during this time.
鈥淚 am grateful to Matt, Amy, Industrial Transformers and other community members who have helped us through this ordeal. We also had a good Samaritan plough our driveway on Tuesday after the snowstorm. Just amazing,鈥 Shively said.
