The Conservation Officer Service (COS) has issued a fine of $1,495 to a hunter who admitted to shooting a three-point moose near ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake.
The violation was also flagged on social media by concerned citizens who discovered the remains of the moose on a back road in Crown land, reporting that all but one hind quarter had been removed.
On October 13, COS said they received a self-report from the hunter, who confessed to shooting the moose during the closed spike-fork season, when moose hunting was not permitted.
As a result, the individual was fined for hunting big game outside of the designated season.
The moose was seized by authorities, COS confirmed in a statement.
