亚洲天堂 Lake's Lakeview Mall management said it is taking action to address maintenance and security concerns following reports of troubling incidents, including drug use and vandalism, within the mall premises.

Last month, both residents and visitors found themselves deprived of access to the women's restroom due to its closure.

Responding to inquiries from Lakes District 亚洲天堂, Bindu Garg, Operations Manager of Lakeview Mall, acknowledged the temporary closure of the ladies' washroom due to safety and hygiene issues.

"Unfortunately, the washroom had been misused, resulting in blockages that required immediate attention," Gard said, adding, "Safety and hygiene are paramount for us, so we had to close it temporarily to conduct repairs and ensure a clean and safe environment for our patrons."

Following the completion of repairs last week the washroom has reopened, she said.

In addition to addressing maintenance issues, Garg reassured the community of the mall's commitment to enhancing security measures. She highlighted the employment of a full-time site manager dedicated to overseeing security operations and the implementation of proactive measures to prevent unauthorized access and address incidents promptly. 

Garg said they are also are actively collaborating with local authorities and exploring additional security measures, including potential enhancements to access points to deter forcible entries. 

"Additionally, we will engage with our tenants to gather more feedback on other security measures we can implement.鈥�

Residents also raised concerns about potholes in the mall's parking lots, prompting Garg to announce that they have hired a contractor and repair work is scheduled to commence the following week.  "We are prioritizing this issue to ensure a smooth and safe parking experience for our visitors," she added.

Garg assured the community that the mall is committed to promptly resolving maintenance issues to ensure a pleasant experience for all patrons. "We value the well-being and security of our patrons and are committed to continuously improving our services," she said. 

Meanwhile she encourages residents to communicate their concerns directly with their site manager, Dale, and his team, who can address community feedback and take necessary actions. 

Lakeview Mall has a history of maintenance and security problems predating current issues.

Complaints from as early as 2021 highlighted ongoing cleanliness concerns, with janitorial staff encountering drug paraphernalia and individuals found unconscious in bathrooms. 亚洲天堂 Lake RCMP have also reported receiving multiple calls regarding disturbances and well-being checks, often linked to public intoxication and worsened by insufficient mall security measures
