The College of New Caledonia (CNC) welcomed students, faculty, staff and the public to take a stand against violence towards women and girls during Moose Hide Campaign Day on May 16. Residents joined in for a community BBQ, live entertainment, and an awareness walk between 12 - 2 p.m. In Canada, Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people are victims of gender-based violence at a much higher rate than non-Indigenous people. The Moose Hide Campaign aims to put an end to gender-based violence, honour victims and their families, and provide a platform for Indigenous voices and stories. More pictures on page 12.
