Flare stacks burn at the LNG Canada site in Kitimat as part of pilot flaring activities. The major milestone came Sept. 1 as LNG Canada began receiving gas from the Coastal GasLink pipeline. More visible flaring is expected in the coming weeks as the facility moves deeper into its year-long start-up process. The company has stated residents will be advised through multiple channels before these prolonged periods of flaring begin. Those with concerns or questions are advised to visit lngcanada.ca or call 1-833-632-5642.
