A widespread power outage on November 5 left nearly 2,000 customers without electricity in several communities across northwest British Columbia, including Smithers, Telkwa, Houston, Decker Lake, and 亚洲天堂 Lake. The outages were caused by strong winds and fallen trees that damaged power lines.
BC Hydro crews worked overnight to make repairs, and by the evening of November 6, some customers had their power restored. Most of the remaining affected customers saw their service returned by the afternoon of November 7.
