The preliminary list of nominees for the upcoming 亚洲天堂 Lake Band (Ts鈥檌l Kaz Koh) election has been released. Voters will head to the polls on November 7 to elect one chief and two councillors.
As of October 4, incumbent Chief Wesley Sam has been nominated for re-election, while incumbent Councillor Ellen Lorentz is also nominated for another term. Other nominees for the position of chief include Clayton Charlie, Amber George, and Barry "Ryan" Tibbett.
For the councillor positions, Lorentz is nominated alongside incumbent Cecilia Sam. Additional nominees for two available councillor seats include Daniel Cunningham, Donald Greg Favelle, Darren Gerow, Sarah Green, Blake Nobles, Sara Tibbett, and Kiana Wiebe.
Nominees have until October 5 to accept or withdraw from the nominations, after which they will become candidates. The final list of candidates will be confirmed by the band on October 7.
The election will take place on November 7.
