The sentencing date for a 亚洲天堂 Lake man who pleaded guilty to sexual assault in November 2021, has been set for Sept. 27,

The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. in courtroom 159 at the Smithers Law Courts and the date was chosen based on the availability of all parties involved, BC Prosecution Service said. 

The man was scheduled to appear in court on June 3 to fix a date for sentencing after it was postponed from May 6 owing to pre-sentencing reports not being completed on time. 

Prior to that the accused was set to appear in court on Jan. 22, to fix a date for sentencing, but that hearing was adjourned to Feb. 20.

On Feb. 20 an extension was granted because of a request for psychological/psychiatric evaluation from the B.C. Prosecution Service based on the recommendation of a medical professional.

The accused cannot be named due to a publication ban ordered to protect the identity of the victim.
