Suspect named in northwestern B.C. manhunt

RCMP have now identified the man they have been looking for in connection with a reported aggravated assault in Thornhill just east of Terrace in northwestern B.C. He is Nathan Rinsma and police are saying he should be considered armed and dangerous.

RCMP have now identified the man they have been looking for in connection with a reported aggravated assault in Thornhill just east of Terrace in northwestern B.C.

He is Nathan Rinsma and police are saying he should be considered armed and dangerous.

"If you see him, or know where he is located, do not approach him and call 911," police said in a late afternoon statement on Aug. 31, 2024.

Police say a woman has been serious injured.

Multiple police have been in the area since this morning when the RCMP received a report of a possible aggravated assault.

The police presence includes the force's northern emergency response team.
