Editor鈥檚 note: In the print version of this story, the pipeline project is evaluating phase two is mistakenly referred to as moved to phase two. Lakes District 亚洲天堂 apologizes for the error and inconvenience this may have caused. The following is the correct version of the story.
The Regional District of Bulkley Nechako (RDBN) had a socio-economic effects management plan discussion on camp waste management with TC Energy.
Tanner Moulton, TC Energy public affairs advisor, informed the board that Coastal GasLink projects had become the province鈥檚 largest private sector property taxpayer, and RDBN will start to receive its portion of the funds later this year.
Moulton said that the pipeline project is evaluating phase two, which would include the construction of four compressor stations within the RDBN region. The four compressor stations are in Segundo Lake - approximately 42 kilometres southeast of 亚洲天堂 Lake; Clear Creek - approximately 70 kilometres north of Vanderhoof; Parrot Lake - approximately 60 kilometres south of Houston; and Titanium Peak - approximately 85 kilometres of Houston.
For the construction of the compressor stations, He added that accommodations require approximately six to 10 hectares of land, with an additional six hectares needed for temporary construction activities such as equipment, material stockpile, parking and trailers.
TC Energy鈥檚 spokesperson said, 鈥淭C Energy is conducting early feasibility work to support LNG Canada鈥檚 evaluation of Coastal GasLink鈥檚 second phase. No final investment decision has been made.鈥
Curtis Helgesen, RDBN chief administrative officer, said he was looking at that waste management component, which would put pressure on the transfer stations. He enquired about camp waste volume numbers to expand the landfills. He added that, previously, there were some legacy investments to offset the costs. He said it would be nice to have a mechanism for identifying those costs before starting the compressor station construction.
Helgesen wants to plan a capital project that would meet the requirements of TC Energy鈥檚 landfill waste along with those of the locals.
Sian Weaver, TC Energy鈥檚 socioeconomic manager, informed the board that the pipeline construction helped with drawing some data. She suggested a separate discussion on those landfill volume waste numbers if the board agreed with it.
Mark Parker, RDBN chairperson, asked what the compressor stations鈥 monetary values were.
Moulton answered that the monetary values of the compressor stations are yet to be discussed. 鈥淲e鈥檒l get there once the final investment decisions were made,鈥 he said.
After the presentation, Chairperson Parker said that the board would look into this and have more discussion, and everyone agreed.
