Then 67-year-old Kitimat resident Noel Yassinsky went missing on Aug. 10, 2014.

The RCMP is once again appealing to the public for any information that could help solve the mystery surrounding the disappearance of 67-year-old Kitimat resident Noel Yassinsky, who was reported missing ten years ago.

On Aug.10, 2014, a concerned friend reported Yassinsky missing after noticing he had not been seen for some time. Several unusual details at Yassinsky’s residence, including the absence of his blue 2009 Ford Fusion with license plate 226UFF, raised further concerns.

Despite several attempts, efforts to contact or locate Yassinsky were unsuccessful, leading the RCMP to open a missing person file.

Over a month later, Yassinsky’s vehicle was found abandoned near Purden Campground, east of Prince George. A two-day search of the area, involving RCMP Police Dog Services and Search and Rescue teams, yielded no clues as to his whereabouts.

With the missing person file still open, Yassinsky's family remains hopeful for closure.

"As the 10-year anniversary of Yassinsky’s disappearance has just passed, his family continues their search for answers and closure in this unresolved case," Kitimat RCMP said.

The RCMP encourages anyone with even the smallest piece of information to come forward by contacting the Kitimat RCMP at 250-632-7111 or Northern British Columbia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
