The Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake is negotiating the sale of land lots it purchased as part of the Richmond Loop and Highway 16 intersection upgrade project.
Details of the sale, such as who might be purchasing the lots, are not yet available as negotiations are still underway, said Sheryl Worthing, the Village's chief administrative officer.
"We are currently negotiating the sale of all three lots," she said.
The three lots were originally purchased to meet conditions for a grant that funded the intersection upgrade project.
The $1.5 million project, funded primarily by a $1 million grant from the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP) and the remaining $500,000 from Northern Capital Planning Grant, aims to enhance access to new commercial properties.
To qualify for the REDIP grant, the village had to own property adjacent to the highway intersection, which is why it opted to buy a subdivided portion of a 22-acre commercial lot.
Work on the infrastructure upgrade began in 2023, and was anticipated to be complete in 2024, but the project was delayed. It is now expected to be completed this Spring, weather permitting, Worthing said.
