Another gap in physician coverage

ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake is without a full time doctor for approximately six weeks.

ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake is without a full time doctor for approximately six weeks.

The news comes after Dr. Allan Hill, ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake's only full time physician recently returned to England, citing personal reasons.

According to Northern Health, Dr. Hill had already planned to take a vacation for most of September and had previously organized locum coverage for that month, however he was required to leave earlier than expected, which resulted a gap in coverage.

Steve Raper, Northern Health's communications officer said to Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà that they do not know the reason why Dr. Hill left early, but he said they are working on organizing locum coverage for the 10 day gap.

They are also working closely with part time doctors [Dr. Michael Graetz and Dr. Trevor Campbell] at the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Medical Clinic.

Dr. Graetz and Dr. Campbell work on a two week rotation in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake.

"Dr. Hill's patients will be covered," said Raper.

He went on to say that a couple of physicians have already been organized to arrive in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake to cover Dr. Hill's absence in September.

"ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake is still covered for health care," he added.
