Under half of the displaced Babine Forest Products employees have found new jobs.
A total of 236 direct employees of the company were left without employment following the explosion and fire that completely destroyed the mill.
According to Norm Fox, Hampton Affiliates Canadian human resources manager, 93 Babine Forest Products employees have now found alternative employment, while 143, remain unemployed.
Fox said the employees have been hired at Canfor, Conifex, Decker Lake Forest Products, Endako Mine, Finning, Pinnacle Pellet, Tahtsa timber, the Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake, West Fraser Timber and Huckleberry Mine.
Sheryl Worthing, village chief administrative officer said that one Babine Forest products employee has been hired to work as a labourer for the village works crew.
Lorraine Ducharme, human resources manager for Conifex said they have two Babine Forest Products workers currently employed.
One millwright and one production worker.
"We did hire three other millwrights but they have recently resigned," she added.
Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà contacted the other employers for comment, but did not receive a response as of press time.
