B.C. invited to share memories, sympathies, reflect on John Horgan's legacy

Books of condolences for former B.C. premier open at Langford, B.C. legislature, online

In memory of former B.C. premier John Horgan, who died on Tuesday (Nov. 12), books of condolences have been set up in both Langford, Victoria and online.

MLA for Langford-Highlands, Ravi Parmar, has created a space in his community office in Langford, where people can write messages of sympathy, leave cards for Horgan鈥檚 family and share their favourite stories about the local hero.

鈥淲e all have one,鈥 said Parmar in a online statement. 鈥淗is humour, kindness and unwavering commitment to our community left a lasting impact, and together, we can celebrate and remember the legacy he leaves behind.鈥

A Victoria Shamrocks jersey, a nod to Horgan's favourite lacrosse team, is also available for people to sign at Parmar's office.

"For so many of us in Langford, John was more than just a leader, he was our guy, a true advocate for our community, and someone who worked tirelessly for all of B.C.," said Parmar.

At the B.C. legislature, a book of condolences has been set up in the Hall of Honour.

The book is available for signing on weekdays from 8.30 a.m. until 4.30 p.m., and will remain available until the day after Horgan's memorial service, the date of which is yet to be determined.

The B.C. legislature has said all messages will be compiled and presented to Horgan鈥檚 family, including those collected in a online book of condolences.

To leave a message in the online book visit .
