As the procurement process for the Lakes District Hospital and Health Centre Replacement project is in its final stages, it is a good opportunity to highlight the extensive work already undertaken on this project leading up to the official start of construction this spring.
Site preparation work took place in the summer and fall of 2012 to ensure the site is ready for major construction this spring. In August 2012, Yellowridge Construction undertook site preparation activities, which included the removal of existing building services, installing new water and sanitary sewer services for the new facility, and relocation and removal of portions of the perimeter fencing. Early works also included the successful relocation of the existing nurses’ residence by structural moving company Nickel Brothers, which took place on August 20, 2012. The early works were completed on time and on budget.
