At approximately 7:24 a.m. on Aug. 23, ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake RCMP received a report of a break and enter and theft from a workshop on a rural property.
Police investigation determined that unknown suspects forced their way into the workshop and stole 10 handguns, three rifles and other articles from a safe, kept inside the workshop.
With the assistance of the forensic identification section and police dog services from Prince George, along with aerial search, police conducted an exhaustive investigation which resulted in the successful recovery of all the stolen firearms.
During the investigation, police also recovered a pick up truck reported stolen in Prince George earlier last week. Police arrested one 33 yr. old adult male from Prince George who is remanded into custody pending court.
The RCMP appreciate the assistance provided to them by individuals over the course of the investigation. Because of their assistance, police were able to recover firearms that are believed to have been destined for organized crime groups in B.C.
