Central Okanagan Search and Rescue dog to help look for missing man near Vanderhoof

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue's K9 unit is heading to Vanderhoof to help find a man who hasn't been seen since Jan. 23.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue's (COSAR) furry friend is off to the Vanderhoof area in hopes to find a missing man.

Ronald McCook, 40, was reported missing on Jan. 30 and last seen on Jan. 23 in the 100 block of Kenny Dam Road on the Saik’Uz First Nation outside of Vanderhoof. He was reportedly walking south towards the Saik’uz General Store.

COSAR's K9 team is heading up this weekend to join more than 110 search and rescue volunteers from across the province to find McCook. They will be the area south of the Saik’Uz Reserve.

Ronald is described as an Indigenous man, standing 5'11" and weighing 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was wearing an orange T-shirt, a grey baseball hat and jeans.
