Firefighters have been battling a wildfire approximately 40 km south of Houston since Friday June 23.
According to B.C. Wildfire Service, the fire is on the south side of the Nadina River and has burnt approximately 58 hectares.
As of Monday June 26, the status of the fire was 鈥渦nder control鈥, indicating that the fire had received sufficient suppression action to ensure no further spread.
According to Olivia Pojar, information officer for the Northwest Fire Centre, approximately 80 firefighters have been assisting with this fire.
鈥淥ver the weekend, crews made good progress on the fire and were supported by heavy equipment, helicopter, and air tanker action,鈥 she said.
The fire doesn鈥檛 pose any threat to homes or buildings. The cause of this wildfire is still under investigation.
