It only took five minutes to appoint directors to the (CMSL) board during an annual general meeting held in council chambers recently.
The decision was made by Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake mayor and councillors based on their prior recommendations.
New directors to the board are Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake Coun. Susan Schienbein and Wet'suwet'en First Nation representative Reg Ogen.
Returning board members are Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake Coun. Quentin Beach, local resident and previously an alternate director Roseanne Murray, 亚洲天堂 Lake Band Coun. Wesley Sam and Wet'suwet'en Hereditary Chief Jeff Brown.
Karen Ogen, Albert Gerow and David De Wit were also appointed as First Nation alternate directors.
Replaced from the board was former Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake Coun. Eileen Benedict and former Mayor Bernice Magee.
Because the holds the shares of CMSL in trust for the community, the six member board of directors for CMSL is appointed by village council.
Of the six seats on the board, one seat is reserved for the Office of the , one seat for the 亚洲天堂 Lake Band and one seat for the Wet'suwet'en First Nation.
The chief and council of these First Nations groups is responsible for selecting an individual to represent them on the board.
The three remaining seats are filled with an individuals from the community and the village.
Executive positions were filled by vote during the board's first official meeting last week. For the second term running Beach was elected president and Sam was also reelected to the vice president seat. Murray was elected as board secretary.
Brown was absent from the meeting.
