The Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake announced last week that David Geronazzo is no longer employed as the director of recreation.

Geronazzo had moved to 亚洲天堂 Lake with his family from Saskatchewan earlier this summer.

This means that, as of press time, the village has no director of recreation, no director of finance and no chief administrative officer (CAO).

In the interim, director of public works Dale Ross will be managing the Lakeside Multiplex.

The village鈥檚 former director of finance, Bernice Crossman, has been providing financial oversight to the village while the recruitment process for a new director of finance continues.

And in the absence of the village鈥檚 CAO, Sheryl Worthing, council has appointed a different staff member every two weeks to fulfill the CAO duties.

City clerk Rebecca Billard, who started working for the municipality approximately five months ago, was the first to be appointed.

Director Ross is now in his second week as acting CAO, and director of protective services Rob Krause will be the acting CAO starting next week.

Council鈥檚 decision to appoint a different CAO every two weeks has drawn criticism from some community members, including former 亚洲天堂 Lake mayor Bernice Magee, who said that asking current employees to assume the role of CAO is 鈥渧ery disturbing.鈥�

鈥淎ll of the inside employees are new to this place of employment and have no experience in CAO duties,鈥� she said last month. 鈥淭hey are still learning the responsibilities of their own designated area of employment.鈥�

Under the direction of mayor and council, the CAO is responsible for the overall management of all operations of the municipality and has direct responsibility for all staff.
