Terrace RCMP say officers seized a number of items including knives, a sword, batons, a bow and arrows, ammunition and bear spray during a search warrant-assisted raid of a home behind St. Matthew’s Anglican Church before noon on Jan. 4.
Six individuals exited the home under the watchful eyes of officers carrying semi-automatic weapons. They were arrested, searched and handcuffed. The residence was then searched.
All six were released the same day, RCMP said in a Jan. 8 release.
The release indicated the search warrant was obtained after police received information about what were described as “unauthorized weapons inside the residence.”
Further information as to the alleged unauthorized nature of the items seized was not provided.
“The Terrace RCMP will be submitting the results of the investigation to B.C. Prosecution Services for their consideration of charges,” the release stated.
The residence is one of four which appear to be located in an alley behind St. Matthew’s Anglican Church. The alley is actually the 4500 Block of Lazelle Ave.
