Woodlot licensees Alistair Schroff and Earl Ingram were presented with a cheque for $3,500 and the Minister's Award of Excellence for Woodlot Management by Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad. Schroff and Ingram have co-managed a local wood lot for the past 13 years and received the award for the best woodlot in the province for 2011. Achievements include maintaining a strong focus on site productivity and reforesting with a variety of tree species to increase resilience to disease and climate change. Schroff and Ingram plan to donate the funds to the Lakes District Animal Friendship Society.
