ALLAN ROSS PEMENT

May 6, 2005

Al was born on April 11, 1928 in Falkland, B.C. to Dennie and Louise Pement. After the death of his father Al鈥檚 family moved to Armstrong, B.C. were he took his formal education and grew to be a fine young man. Al was proud of his service in the Armstrong Rocky Mountain Rangers during the later years of WWII.

At 18 years Al joined a suppression crew in the Armstrong area which led to his 38 year career in the British Columbia Forest Service. After attending Ranger School Al held the position of Forest Ranger throughout northern B.C. starting with his first posting in Atlin then to the Queen Charlottes, Southbank and Smithers. He returned to the Lakes District office as District Manager until his retirement.

Al loved life and enjoyed many pursuits including his love of flying throughout northern B.C. and acquisition of his favourite aircraft the Super Cub. He was a skilled woodworker, avid hunter, gunsmith and watch collector. His love of gardening led to an over abundance of produce which he shared with family and friends. He enjoyed his many years of working in the forests and loved to cut wood for heating the house. He was renowned for his winter supply of wood.

Al was married in 1964 to Jackie and raised a fine family. He both loved and was proud of his children and grandchildren. Al was a loving husband, a fine father and a good friend.

He is survived by his wife Jackie, sons Dennie (Sherry), Ross (Melanie), and daughters Susan (Roland) and Ellyn (Dusty). His grandchildren Josh and Tanner Mielken, Makayla, Kennedy and Tehya Pement, Trinity, Noah and Grayson Pement. He also is survived by his sister Gladys (George) Curran and many nieces and nephews.

A million times we鈥檒l miss you

a million times we cry.

If loving could have saved you

you never would have died

In life we loved you dearly

In death we love you too

In our hearts there is an empty place no one could fill but you

It broke our hearts to lose you,

but you never went alone

for part of us went with you

when God took you home.

His garden must be pretty,

he only wants the best

He put his loving arms around you and said

鈥淎l, come home to rest.鈥
