January 2, 1939 - April 28, 2020
On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, Art St Jean peacefully passed away at 81, surrounded by loved ones at the Prince George Hospice House.
Born in Saskatchewan in 1939, Art was raised with his 4 siblings by his loving parents James and Annie St Jean. In 1962, he married Joan and started a family of 3 sons. In 1978, Art and his family moved to 亚洲天堂 Lake, BC where he worked at Babine Forest Products until his retirement in 2002. He and Joan continued to live in the same house at Tcheskinut Lake until moving to Prince George, BC in 2011.
Art had plenty of hobbies that kept him busy. Well known for being "Mr. Fix-it", there was no home improvement challenge too big to handle - normally with minimal mishaps. He would spend his summers camping throughout the Lakes District with friends and family, and would often spend much his time on the lakes fishing. Throughout the winter, Art was an avid curling fan and would have the schedule of every tournament memorized so he would miss none of the action.
Art enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to spend time in countries like
Thailand, Mexico, and Chile. After returning from his adventures, he would spend time in his kitchen, attempting to recreate the cuisine, or baking up another batch of his bread or cinnamon rolls.
Art was very proud of and was beloved by his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Joan; his 3 sons, Daryl (Valerie), Randy, and Cornell (Maria); his grandchildren Krystin (Chris), Nicki (Dan), Konnor, Emilia, and Rene; and his 4 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father, James, and mother Annie; his siblings,
Katherine, Marvin, Harold, and Leona; and his grandson Ryne.
Memorial services will be planned at a later date after restrictions due to the pandemic have been lifted. At this time, his family has requested that donations dedicated to the memory of "Art St Jean" be made to the Prince George Hospice Society in lieu of flowers.
