Cornelius G. Hiebert was born on February 4, 1938 to Jacob and Katherina (Guenther) Hiebert in Olser, Saskatchewan. He was raised on a farm near Neuanlage, and attended Pembroke School. He gave his life to Jesus when he was 19 years old and was baptized at Neuanlage Grace Mennonite Church. He married Margaretha Fehr on October 20, 1961. Cornelius and Marge farmed near Osler, SK where they raised their 3 children. Their lives were filled with church activities, family, friends, music, yearly vacations and fishing trips. Cornelius was a hard worker but loved to make time for family activities. Even in the demanding days of summer, he often found time to hook up the boat and head to the lake to go water skiing with the family. Cornelius had 3 main passions in life; God, family, & farming. These he pursued with all his strength. He had a fierce commitment to Christ that helped him navigate life, and fight the good fight of faith. He led his family to know Christ - this is his greatest accomplishment.

Cornelius was one of the most persistent, determined people on the face of the earth. Undaunted by setbacks, he would simply make a new plan and start again. However, in 2002 Cornelius began experiencing the affects of vascular disease. Multiple smal strokes began affecting his ability to manage daily activities. Life as our family had once known it would never be the same. Cornelius passed away suddenly into eternity on May 29, 2010 with family by his side. Cornelius leaves his beloved wife Marge, his 3 children Gail (Terrence), Murry (Deborah), Tamara (Johnny), and 9 beautiful grandchildrent (Jaden, Joshua, Gracie Janzen; Madison, Riley, Lauren Bueckert; Ellie, Emma, and Eden Hiebert) and one more on the way. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Giesbrecht, Tena Janzen, Peter Hiebert, John (Dawn) Hiebert, Helen (Peter) Rempel, Elsie (Bill) Siemens, Henry Hiebert, Dora (Ron) Adrian, Nora (Peter) Fehr. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Katherina Hiebert, his sister, Marth Reddekopp, his brothers in law George Friesen, Jacob Janzen, Henry Reddekopp, and Jacob Giesbrecht and his sister in law Helen Hiebert. He was also predeceased by his nephews, Bob Friesen, Irvin Hiebert, Eldon Hiebert, and his nieces Leona Reddekopp and Ruth Hiebert. We take great comfort in the promises of God as we set our eyes on eternity. "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has in store for us."
