Corney Dyck

After a courageous battle with cancer Corney passed away January 25, 2003.

Corney was born in Osler, Saskatchewan on May 14, 1926. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1943 and received a honorary discharge in 1946.

Corney married his wife Tina in 1950. The family moved to 亚洲天堂 Lake in 1951 where he worked for awhile in the sawmill industry. Corney then went to work for Alice Turner running her cartage business. He bought the business from Mrs. Tunner in 1956 and ran it as C. Dyck Transfer until 1986 when he retired.

Corney belonged to the Kinsmen, Legion and curling club in his younger years.

Corney鈥檚 favorite recreation was fishing, especially the Bulkley River.

His sense of humor and friendly smile will be missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched.

Corney is survived by his wife of 52 years, Tina. Daughters Sylvia (Dan), Donna (Alvaro), and Darlene. Grandchildren Ryan (Tania), Erin, Rene, Cam and Justine. Brothers Bill (Sadie), Fred (Mary). Sisters Elizabeth (Art), and Margaret. Corney was predeceased by brothers Abe, Jake, John and sisters Annie, Catherine, Mary and Nettie and by son-in-law Norman.

Memorial service was held at the First Mennonite Church February 1, with Rev. Jim Massey officiating.
