JANUARY 31, 1938 鈥� SEPTEMBER 24, 2009

Doris was born at home in a little farmhouse at Danskin, B.C., on January 31, 1938 - the third child of William & Stella Loveseth. She and her two older brothers, Lawrence & Orville, enjoyed life on the farm and she had many happy childhood memories of the various animals she helped raise (and adopted for her very own) plus all the other activities that farm kids are fortunate enough to be able to do without a lot of adult supervision & interference. When Doris was almost 11 years old, the family moved from Danskin to the north shore of Francois Lake where her father & uncles built and operated a sawmill at what later became known as 鈥淟oveseth Bay鈥�. The following year her sister, Sandra, was born. Doris married Everett Jeffrey in 1954, and they built a small home on Francois Lake East Rd. located on part of the original Jeffrey family homestead. They had four children: Lorraine, Debbie, Viola and Vern. They were a hard working family, but always took time to enjoy outdoor activities. They spent many happy hours on Francois Lake 鈥� boating, hunting & fishing. Doris especially enjoyed the outings in their various float planes, exploring the countryside and touching down on remote lakes just to see if anything happened to be biting. She was kept busy raising her children, and doing the bookkeeping and errand running for the family business. After her marriage dissolved in 1979, she moved to 亚洲天堂 Lake where she worked in various retail outlets over the years. When her granddaughter, Brenna, came to live with her in 1987, she bought a small house on Second Avenue. When Brenna grew up and became independent, Doris sold her house and went back to apartment living. She was always willing to help out her fellow tenants who were in need 鈥� often picking up someone鈥檚 mail or driving them to a doctor鈥檚 appointment or the post office, or grabbing a few things at the grocery store. After retirement, she spent time enjoying hobbies, volunteering at the Thrift Store, and visiting with family & friends. Always an avid hockey fan, she rarely missed 鈥淗ockey Night in Canada鈥� and was often found at the local arena cheering on the home team. She never missed a Braves game and was quick to point out that Dave was Brenna鈥檚 husband!Surrounded by family, Doris passed away in the 亚洲天堂 Lake Hospital after a long, but well-fought battle with cancer. She was pre-deceased by her parents, daughters Lorraine & Debbie, brother Orville, grandson Cameron Friesen and nephew Larry Loveseth. She is survived by her daughter, Viola Tom, of Vancouver; son Vern Jeffrey (Caroline) of 100 Mile House; brother Lawrence Loveseth (Madeleine) of Fort St. James; and sister Sandra deHoog (Cor) of Francois Lake. Also her granddaughters Brenna Wilejto and Netanya Jeffrey; grandsons Darrell Friesen and Lynden Jeffrey; as well as great-grandchildren, Natalie & Blake Wilejto and Jane & Emily Friesen.

A 鈥淐elebration of Life鈥� tea will be held in Doris鈥檚 honour on October 8th at 12:30 p.m. in the Pentecostal Church basement. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Canadian Cancer Society, Box 1301, 亚洲天堂 Lake, BC V0J IE0.
